Jason Botkin

Atlantics, 2020

Let’s push boundaries, and create something for the rest of us to think about. Go ahead, get inspired, and let’s celebrate the Art of Gin.

Introducing romeo’s gin edition 07, exclusively available in the Atlantics, featuring Jason Botkin’s colorful mural located downtown Halifax!

About Jason Botkin

Since 2009, Botkin has been involved in the creation of over 200 murals internationally, while exhibiting in solo and group exhibitions throughout Canada, the United States, and Europe. A graduate from the Alberta College of Art and Design in 1997 (with honors), his body of work includes the co-creation and ongoing direction of the EN MASSE project. This is an ongoing, multi-artist, black and white collaborative drawing initiative that depends upon an ever-expanding global network of visual artists drawn from diverse backgrounds. EN MASSE explores the boundary-melting aspects of individual artistic authorship toward the creation of a collective vision and effort, greater than any one could create on their own.

" The work describes the delicate balance of our marine and freshwater ecosystems, forever engaged in the dynamic dance of symbiotic survival. The great blue heron, cod, and octopus, all indigenous to the region, nestled on a bed of coral-like candy. Dear pleasure, life can be so sweet, but at what cost? "
