Inspired by the Purl, a classic hot cocktail from UK is reinvented with the romeo’s twist, adding hot sparkling apple juice and maple syrup.


  • 2 oz of romeo’s gin 
  • 1 cup of sparkling apple juice (or cider), Michel Jodoin
  • ⅓ oz of maple syrup, Escuminac
  • 2 dashes of orange bitters, Scrappy’s Bitters
  • Garnish: orange zest


  • 2 small coffee cups
  • Pot
  • Wooden spoon


  • Warm the apple juice in the pot over low heat.
  • Add the maple syrup and stir until dissolved.
  • Split the content of the pot between the 2 cups.
  • Add the gin into each cup.
  • Add the bitters into each cup.
  • Garnish with orange zest.
